Commissioner: Hunter Water Corporation
Process: Contact Filtration
Influent: Grahamstown Dam, Tomago Sandbags
Capacity: 257 ML/d
This conventional water treatment plant utilised flocculation and sedimentation tanks in conjunction with mono media sand filters which was then converted to a dual media filtration plant with coarse dual media filters in 1988.
The cost of converting the filters to C&S brand Filter Coal resulted in the up-front costs being recouped in the first year of operation in chemical additives savings alone. All product was delivered on time and wholly to specification.
