Lower Molonglo Plant was built in the mid 1970’s that treats sewage wastewater to a better quality of water than is often found in natural rivers and streams. It is Australia’s largest inland treatment facility.
James Cumming and Sons supplied C&S Brand Australian Filter Coal for this project which was converted from imported anthracite coal which resulted in an increase in maximum throughput of 60%, a fivefold increase in filter run length, with no loss in effluent quality, an excellent result in optimising plant operations. All product was delivered on time and wholly to specification.
