Yan Yean reservoir was Melbourne’s first and oldest body of water still used today to supply the second largest city in Australia with clean drinking water through Yan Yean water treatment plant.
Melbourne Water decided to improve the quality of drinking water supply to the city by commissioning the build of Yan Yean water treatment plant which was the first privately financed project in Australia’s water sector, built in 1994.
Through the use of C&S Brand Australian Filter Coal Yan Yean WTP is able to remove high levels of turbidity from the raw influent water. We supplied 1024m3 of C&S Brand Filter Coal on time and wholly to specification.
